Is breakfast included?

Breakfast can be booked optionally (€12.00 per person). It is served daily from 07:00 to 10:30 in the Bio-Restaurant and consists predominantly of organic ingredients. Gluten-free rolls and lunch packs available on request.

Out of consideration for guests with allergies, our rooms and apartments are pet-free. Assistance dogs for guests with disabilities are welcome – please let us know in advance.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellation less than one week before arrival: 50% of the room rate. On the day of arrival or during the stay: 100%. We try to re-let the room – if successful, the cancellation fee is waived. Separate terms apply to groups of 12+ and apartments.

Please note our separate cancellation terms for binding apartment bookings:

• Individual nights within a booking usually cannot be cancelled.
• Cancellation less than four weeks before arrival: we charge 50% of the accommodation cost.
• Cancellation less than two weeks before arrival: we charge 80% of the accommodation cost.
• Cancellation less than seven nights before arrival, on the day of arrival or during the stay: we charge 100% of the accommodation cost.

We always try to re-let a cancelled apartment – if successful, the cancellation fee is waived.

Separate cancellation terms apply to group bookings of 12 or more people:

• Free cancellation up to six weeks before arrival.
• Individual beds within a group booking cannot be cancelled at any time.
• Cancellation less than six weeks before arrival: we charge 50% of the accommodation cost.
• Cancellation less than four weeks before arrival: we charge 70%.
• Cancellation less than two weeks before arrival: we charge 80%.
• Cancellation less than one week before arrival: we charge 100%.

What are the payment terms for groups of 12+?

Accepted Answer

A deposit of 20% of the total price is due no later than two weeks before arrival. Please transfer the remaining balance to our account by the day of arrival, or pay it in cash or by EC (debit) card on arrival. Unfortunately we cannot accept credit cards.

Yes, our family rooms accommodate up to four people.

Is the hotel low-barrier?

Access to the building, restaurant, lift and corridor is via automatic doors. We offer one single, two double, one triple and one five-bed room with a wheelchair-friendly shower and toilet. Not everything is barrier-free – you can find all details, dimensions and limits on our low-barrier travel page.

What are the dimensions of the lift and doors?

The lift is 90 cm wide and 140 cm deep, room doors are 94 cm wide. Beds are not height-adjustable (lower edge 21 cm, mattress top 52 cm).

Do you offer group accommodation?

Accepted Answer

Yes – school classes, clubs and travel groups are explicitly welcome. For 12+ guests please send an email enquiry, ideally with split by m/f/d, number of supervisors, type of group and age of the young people.

How far is the station and airport?

Accepted Answer

Five minutes on foot to Altona station (DB, S-Bahn, bus). 4 S-Bahn stops from the central station; 30 minutes direct from the airport via the S1.

Is the restaurant open without staying?

Yes, the Bio-Restaurant is open to the neighbourhood – we look forward to your reservation.

Is there WiFi/internet?

Accepted Answer

Yes – we cooperate with Freifunk Hamburg, a free public internet network. Free WiFi is also available in all rooms.

Is there parking?

We don't have our own parking spaces. You can drive into our courtyard to drop off luggage. The Mercado car park is 2 minutes away (€1.70/hour, €10/24 hours).

Can I rent a bike?

Accepted Answer

Yes – in partnership with Hamburg City Cycles we rent out up to five bikes (city bikes with gears, incl. a kids' bike). Pick-up and return happen the same day directly at our reception; locks, baskets and helmets are included free of charge. Prices from €13 for 4 hours or €19 per day. Servicing and repairs are handled by Hamburg City Cycles. If all bikes are out, we recommend stadtrad.hamburg.de.

Do you offer catering for private celebrations or company events?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We offer organic catering for company parties, birthdays, family celebrations, conferences and memorial gatherings – in-house in our guest room for up to 40 people (on weekends from 25 guests) or off-site in Hamburg and the surrounding area. Can I use the guest room for a private celebration?

Our guest room is not available for separate hire. For private events and company gatherings it can only be used in combination with our in-house catering – on weekends from 25 guests, with space for up to 40 people.

Are prices per person or per room?

Prices are always per room and night, excluding breakfast and the city's culture & tourism tax.

When can I check in?

You can drop off luggage from 8:00. Rooms are guaranteed ready by 15:00. Please check out by 11:00 – you are welcome to leave your luggage in our luggage room after check-out and pick it up later.
