    We want as many guests as possible to enjoy the Schanzenstern. Here you'll find honest information about what is accessible at our hotel – and where there are limitations.

    At a glance

    • Access to the building, restaurant, lift and corridor via automatic doors.
    • Lift to all floors, including the apartments on the 5th floor.
    • Several rooms with a wheelchair-friendly shower and toilet.
    • Bio-Restaurant accessible at street level.

    Rooms with a wheelchair-friendly bathroom

    The following rooms have a wheelchair-friendly shower and toilet:

    • One single room
    • Two double rooms
    • One triple room (bunk bed plus single bed)
    • One five-bed room (a triple and a double room with a shared bathroom)

    Note: each of these rooms can only be occupied by one wheelchair user at a time. The double room within the five-bed combination is not large enough for a wheelchair.

    What is not (yet) accessible

    • We don't have height-adjustable beds.
    • Not all rooms are wheelchair-accessible – the accessible rooms are listed above.

    Reduced-barrier arrival

    How to reach us with as few steps as possible – by train, car or taxi.

    By train & S-Bahn

    Altona station has lifts to all platforms. The route to us is mostly level, with lowered curbs.

    By taxi & car

    Taxis and cars can drive directly into our courtyard to drop off luggage or passengers.

    Parking

    Disabled parking spaces are available nearby. The Mercado car park (2-minute walk) has a lift and is open 24/7 – €1.70 per hour, €10.00 per 24 hours.

    Entrance & Lift

    The automatic entrance door can be reached via a ramp. The lift is directly accessible from the foyer and serves all floors.
